Cinnamon toast with Nutella
2 eggs
200ml (7floz) milk
1 tbsp icing sugar
½ tsp ground cinnamon
2 thick slices white bread
6 strawberries, hulled (topped) & sliced
1tbsp caster sugar
Knob of butter
1tbsp Nutella or chocolate spread
1tsp icing sugar
How to make it…
Beat the eggs in a shallow bowl then stir-in the milk, icing sugar and cinnamon and mix well.
Dip the slices of bread into the egg mixture, turn them over then leave them to soak whilst you prepare the strawberries.
Place the sliced strawberries in a small bowl, sprinkle over the caster sugar then gently stir so that the fruit is thoroughly coated with sugar.
Lightly butter then pre-heat the flat side of the Cook's Essentials Grill & Griddle on setting 6, or lightly butter a large, heavy-based frying pan and place on a medium heat. Once the griddle or pan is hot use a fish slice or turner to carefully lift the slices of bread onto the griddle or into the pan.
Once the toast has browned gently turn it over and cook until golden brown on the second side.
Lift one slice of the toast onto a warm serving plate, quickly spread with the Nutella or chocolate spread, pile on the strawberries then place the second toast slice on top. Serve immediately, dusted with icing sugar and cut in wedges.
